A fantastic win for Nute Middle School volleyball against Strafford on September 14th.

JV's first official game of the season was definitely a nail biter. The first set was a tie score back and forth with some fantastic serves from Annabelle Roy and Hannah Desharnais. The team had some great passes and volleys with a surprise attack from Bella Davis to score an additional point. Andrea Garlough scored the winning serve for a final score of Nute 26 Strafford 24.

The second set was just as tied up until 7th graders Natalia Stevens and Ava Cloutier scored consecutively with nice serves and newcomer Danica Oxton served in the last winning points with a final score of Nute 25 Strafford 18.

Varsity followed up there Tuesday night win with a great game against Strafford. The first set was well matched in the beginning with long volleys and fantastic plays. Nute pulled ahead with five unreturned serves from eighth-grader Caroline Griffin. With additional top servers Emma Goff and Marissa MacLeod, Nute kept a fantastic lead. 7th grader Alexis Hensley served the winning point for a final score of Nute 25 Strafford 14.

The second set started off slow with some missed serves and back and forth points resulting in a seven point lead from Strafford. Again Miss Griffin stepped up and served eight consecutive serves bringing Nute back into the lead. Additional serves from 8th graders Ava Nunes and Marissa Macleod gave Emma Goff, 8th grader, the chance to serve the winning point with a final score of Nute 25 Strafford 15.
